Huntsville fireworks will be in stereo at Bridge Street and Space & Rocket Center
HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA - Get ready for one heck of a bang on the Fourth of July - in stereo for the first time ever.
The U.S. Space & Rocket Center and Bridge Street Town Centre are hosting a simultaneous fireworks display on Monday, the Fourth of July, starting around 9 p.m. There will be family fun, performing artists and contests at Bridge Street starting at 10 a.m. Monday and free admission all day for kids 12 and under at the Space & Rocket Center.
The theme for the fireworks display is “Huntsville United” and it will last 19 minutes, 57 seconds - sorry engineers, there’s no hidden meaning “just the way the music worked out," according to Lansden E. Hill Jr., president/CEO of Pyro Shows of LaFollette, Tenn. While the red, white, blue and multitude of colors are blasted stereophonically side by side, music will be simulcast to the fireworks over WQRV-FM 100.3 The River and 106.1 WTAK-FM.
Tickets and access to the Space & Rocket Center parking lots have been given out, but there will be lots of parking available in the Bridge Street/Research Park area.
“It is a very large, choreographed fireworks show,” said Hill said. "They will be fired from the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and from Bridge Street.
“It will be a patriotic soundtrack, plus a mix of country and classic rock, James Brown, Sosa marches and others.”
Pyro Shows has done fireworks shows all over the nation, including the Super Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla., the National Park Service in Washington, D.C. at the Nation’s Independence Day Celebration and United Arab Emirates for their 25th Anniversary Celebration, where Hill said the start of the 30-minute show was spread out over a mile and a half and equal to four of the Washington shows.
This show here also promises to be an extravaganza, Hill said, because his company has secured permits for large fireworks.
“The kind of fireworks we’re using has required a lot of work with the regulatory agencies in Huntsville,” Hill said. “We’ve had to get permission to use larger shells than they’ve used in the past.
“The fallout areas are larger, so they’ll have to clear the parking lots more than they have been in the past. The reward is the people at the Space Center will be able to see most of the fireworks at Bridge Street and the people at Bridge Street will be able to see most of the fireworks at the Space Center.

Rick and Bubba 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament - Level 10 Realty ...
Level 10 Realty was a featured sponsor at the Rick and Bubba 3-on-3 Tournament held at Bridgestreet in Huntsville today, and I thought I’d share a few thoughts.
First off, there was a pretty good turnout for only being Huntsville’s first event. The event was very professionally handled and the people that worked with setting up the vendors were absolutely spectacular. I couldn’t ask for more. We received quite a few mentions over the loud speakers and several on-air with 100.3 the River. We gave away a lot of stuff including Koozies and cards and free money.
During this, I learned a little about human nature. For example, we were giving away free, ice-cold, bottled water. Everyone else was selling it for $2 or more. We were right beside Great American Cookies, Chick-fil-a, and a hot-dog stand. Almost without question, people would walk up and happily pay $2 for water in that outside oven we were in. If they had shopped around or even walked one booth down, they would have seen that they could have gotten the same water for free. People are the same way with real estate agents and many other things. They just “pick one up” for whatever reason instead of shopping around the find the best..
