Carlos Corbin, Jr. arrested for theft by receiving $385K worth of jewelry
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The son of a Little Rock police officer has turned himself into North Little Rock police for charges of "theft by receiving" after he tried to pawn some items of jewelry that was stolen from a NLR resident.
Carlos Corbin, Jr., 19, was allegedly trying to pawn some items that were reported stolen from a North Little Rock residence - a 7.5 carat pear-shaped diamond wedding ring and band, a 4.5 carat 3 stone diamond ring and a set of 3.6 carat diamond earrings, altogether worth about $385,000.
A 15-year-old boy was originally implicated in the theft. He is the son of a friend of the victim. The boy allegedly stole the items out of a tea cup in the victim's bedroom. The victim told police she texted the boy and said she would give him $20,000 if he returned the jewelry. He texted her back, saying he no longer had it.
Corbin's bail was set at $5,000. It is not clear yet how he came into possession of the jewelry.
